How can you put a value on training?
You've just made an investment in new software. You want it to do everything that we have promised it will. You want it now.
Well
that's probably not going to happen until you train at least one staff member in the use of DonorWorks.
Can it be learned on your own? Yes, if you are willing to give your employee uninterrupted time to go through the program and the tutorials in the manual and if they are very comfortable with computers. They can teach themselves to do basic functions fairly well, but they will miss many of the extras. Long time users who come to a training sit, shaking their heads saying I didn't know it could do that!
We strongly recommend that you take one of the training courses offered for DonorWorks.
We handle training differently from some of our competitors: all of our classes are taught by a StarSoft support specialist, not a regional representative. Our classes are hands-on, you do everything the instructor does. We hold classes at a computer lab where everyone has a computer in front of them or clients brings their laptops.
Classroom training has the added benefit of interaction with other nonprofit professionals who use DonorWorks. You get the benefit of their questions and their experience as well as what we are teaching.
